About Us
Bachelor Switch Water Users Association (BSWUA) was formed in 1972 by the developers of Panoramic Heights and Whispering Pines. The association was named for the nearby railroad switch on the former Denver & Rio Grande railroad, running between Ridgway and Ouray. Being in the county, the developers entered into an agreement with the City of Ouray to provide potable water to BSWUA’s own water delivery system. At present, BSWUA has built sufficient infrastructure to serve our entire service area which totals ninety properties. Future needs involve normal maintenance and the installation of taps for properties with county building permits.
BSWUA is a member (customer) owned association with a charter and bylaws. Membership meetings are generally held annually to elect directors and discuss other matters of interest to the membership. Since the City of Ouray is currently without water meters, BSWUA also operates without water meters and charges an annually adjusted flat fee for service based on the City of Ouray annual charges to BSWUA.
The BSWUA Directors are: Laszlo Kubinyi, Wil Earwood and Peggy Lindsey,
The BSWUA Officers are: Laszlo Kubinyi-President, Wil Earwood-Vice President, Trisha Oakland-Treasurer/Secretary
